For the past two months I have been utilizing a service called farm fresh delivery. Every Thursday between 6:00 and 7:00 pm a green bin magically appears on my front porch. This bin contains presents. This bin contains sustenance. This bin keeps me from going out to eat. Farm Fresh delivery is an online home delivery service that provides organic produce and natural groceries to its members.
This week my delivery contained 1 lb of chicken, 1/2 gallon of milk, 1 dozen eggs, 4 bananas, 2 oranges, Strawberries, Blueberries, Green beans, mushrooms, onions, sweet corn, and tomatoes. I usually get one odd ball item a week that challenges me. I either don't know what it is, i don't know how to cook it, or i don't know if i possibly can swallow that mystery item. Some odd balls have been: Kale, Baby White Turnips, Beets, and Pluots. I made a sausage potato soup with my kale. I roasted my baby white turnips. Pluots, ah Pluots...a pluot can also be called a Plumcot and is a cross between a plum and an apricot. I have never heard of pluots. Pluots are delicious.
And then there were beets. My 3 beets were delivered one week ago today. They are still sitting, untouched, in the back of my refrigerator. I am not sure I hate beets but I am also not sure I like them either. One thing is for sure, I definitely don't know how to prepare them. So - does anyone have a solution for my unconsumed beets? I fear they may have BEETen me.

I can't see the word beet without thinking of Dwight Schrute. I don't think I like beets either, but I might try them just for Dwight.
